Introduction
Silent Valley National Park in Kerala is one of India’s most celebrated national parks. The national park lies in the Palakkad (Mannarkkad) region of Kerala. Drive from Palakkad/Mannarkkad to Mukkali entry gate, then official forest department jeep to Sairandhri.
History
Saved from a hydroelectric dam project by environmentalists; notified as a National Park in November 1984 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
