History
Declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in July 1994 following community conservation efforts to save the Golden Langur.

Covering an exact area of 45.56 sq km, the sanctuary’s terrain features Hilly moist deciduous forest surrounded by two large freshwater beels.

Dominant vegetation and floral species include: Shorea robusta (Sal), Dipterocarpus, Tectona grandis, Bamboo, Acacia, and aquatic wetland flora..

The sanctuary harbors a diverse array of mammalian, reptilian, and avian wildlife:
