Location

Sur Sarovar (Keetham Lake) Bird Sanctuary is geographically located in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. On Delhi-Agra Highway (NH-19), 18 km before Agra.

History and Year of Notification

The sanctuary was officially notified in 1991 (Ramsar Site 2020) under Indian wildlife conservation frameworks. Notified in March 1991 and designated a Ramsar Site in 2020.

Pentagonal freshwater lake with artificial islands and dense forest enclosure.
